Position Description
Key position within the IT compliance organization, primarily supporting Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the governance and compliance programs complying with Healthcare laws and established Industry standards.
  • Operates within established policies and guidelines, and acting in accordance with applicable Healthcare laws, regulations, and supervisory guidance, including those related to financial statements, consumer privacy, including ensuring policy exceptions are promptly and effectively assessed and escalated.
  • Leads the design and execution of the business risk and controls strategy, considering broader business strategy and complex regulations and supervisory expectations for various Business Units.
  • Oversees IT controls and governance programs, business controls and risk mitigations, and business strategy and planning for different Business Units. Specifically oversees key programs including but not limited to: SOX/SOC Controls Assessment, Key Risk Indicators program, Issue Management, and Governance.
  • Implements, develops, and maintains risk and controls program in accordance with independent risk management guidance.
  • Assesses Deficiencies/Significant Deficiencies/Material Weaknesses on an ongoing basis and uses those risk assessments as a basis for evaluating progress in achieving the strategic mission.
  • Serves as a key contact to the regulators and external auditors as part of the compliance team.
  • Stays abreast of industry regulatory developments and keeps senior management apprised of relevant changes and developments.
  • Ensures ongoing data analysis of risks, vulnerabilities, and market trends and compares internal performance to industry standards and best practices.
  • Provides consultative advice in the design and performance of key controls and regularly reports the status of the control environment including issues and concerns.
  • Monitors KRI/KPI metrics for changes, using monthly reports on metrics and thresholds breaches.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree; OR or 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years of risk management, compliance, control, and/or audit experience in a related industry with a demonstrated record of success and/or growth.
  • A proven track record leading comparable operations and programs within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate and operate across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations within Healthcare Industry
  • Extensive knowledge, understanding and application of risk management and compliance framework and guidelines.

Critical Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (e.g. Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Experience with scripting desired , but not required
  • Experience managing external partners and vendors to complete work on time and on budget.

Additional Knowledge & Skills
  • Big Four (Deloitte, PwC, E&Y, KPMG) experience highly desirable; must have prior SOX experience in either a similar organization or industry.
  • Possesses strong change management communications capabilities and understanding of organizational dynamics.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with and providing recommendations to Director and VP-level executives in a dynamic, matrix, global environment.
  • Experience in process design, as well as process improvement skill set.
  • Experience in leveraging data/metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement/process redesign.
  • Analytic thinker with a demonstrated ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Effectively work across multiple levels in the organization, teams, stakeholders and locations.
  • Demonstrated strengths in listening, fact-finding, and exploratory skills. Ability to uncover additional information.
  • Strong track record of building relationships across multiple teams, and experience and deep understanding of how to get work done in matrix organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Demonstrated solid business judgment and ability to execute on a daily basis with a bias for action.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • ISACA/CISA certification desired

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
$110,000 - $183,300
