SUMMARY
The Senior Analyst, Store Finance Operations has primary responsibilities that include systemic development and preparation of company and store financial performance reporting with a main focus on store labor analytics, accounting responsibilities and detailed expense forecasting and variance analysis You will help support the largest controllable expense with annual planning, strategy, financial reporting, forecasting, report development and analysis for a $2.5B+ retailer with 850+ stores.
JOB DUTIES
* Support store operations business strategy. Lead contact in preparation and development of reporting and financial analysis. Ensure timely and accurate reporting and analysis. Collaborate with multiple functional areas to develop daily, weekly and bi-weekly payroll reconciliation and analysis. Effectively communicate with all levels of management. Perform close support, month end JEs, expense reclasses and accrual entries, and account reconciliations Primary contact on all planning and forecasting. Provide recommendations, risks, and opportunities to Sr. leadership for trend adjustments and forecasts.
* Detailed financial forecasting for expense line items: Partner with other functional areas, document all processes, expense/income drivers and dependencies, analyze for opportunities and prepare forecast, in partnership with functional area bi-monthly prior to financial close or as needed.
* Support annual store expense planning and accounting, including store payroll planning and analysis. Review and prepare analysis of productivity, rates, selling and non-selling payroll dollars as a percent of sales, as well as planned hours, by store/district/region/company. Review payroll model methodology and incorporate changes in business practices.
* Software Development, Maintenance & Reporting: Serve as a financial data subject matter expert in supporting the Payroll Work Force Management system. Work with other functional areas to understand reporting needs and provide direction to internal partners on data needs to support development of Enterprise and ad-hoc reporting and analysis of company financial information. Serve as a primary resource for the development of systemic reports leveraging SAP, WFM and DMR. Serve as primary department support and issue resolution for internal and field partners.
* Ad-hoc: Includes various support for all functions within Store Finance including, but not limited to, Strategic & Operational planning, forecasting, Store Reporting and Analysis, Presentation Support and other financial analysis as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education Minimum: Bachelor's Degree - Accounting / Finance
Education Preferred: Master's in Business Administration, Accountancy or Finance
Experience Minimum: 5+ years previous experience in Accounting or Finance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Strong knowledge of financial modeling methods
* Knowledge of accounting principles/practices
* Advanced spreadsheet/database skills - able to work with complex Excel/Access databases and equations.
* Detail-orientated and the ability to solve complex problems with workable solutions.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Exceptional team-working/collaboration skills
* Ability to mentor and coach others
* Ability to multi-task and adjust with changing business needs.
