SalarySutro Biopharma, Inc. is seeking a motivated and talented Senior Accountant to join a team of professionals in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This individual will support the Accounting Manager in processing day-to-day general accounting transactions while ensuring US GAAP and SOX 404b compliance and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Review general ledger accounts and prepare monthly journal entries including, but not limited to, clinical trials and contract manufacturing expense, accruals and prepaids.
- Perform quarterly detailed analyses related to the estimation of the clinical trials accruals.
- Perform account analyses and reconciliations for multiple balance sheet accounts, including lease right of use assets and lease liabilities under ASC842.
- Analyze, compile and post monthly, quarterly, and annual accruals.
- Perform bank transactions accounting, analyses, and monthly reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with SOX 404b through continual evaluation of the internal controls over financial reporting in the areas of responsibility.
- Assist in compiling support for the 10Q and 10K SEC filings.
- Assist in audit support preparations for external and internal audits.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus; solid working knowledge of GAAP
- 2+ years of experience in the field, including public accounting and/or public biotech companies
- Strong technology experience, including proficiency with Excel and with ERP systems (D365 a plus)
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, troubleshoot, think critically, and interpret data
- Highly self-motivated and capable of working successfully within a team environment
- Detail oriented, highly organized; able to work independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role at Sutro Biopharma’s California based locations will be $90,000-$120,000 (not including bonus, equity, and benefits). The final salary offered will be dependent on several factors that include and are not limited to relevant previous experience, job responsibilities and duration of experience, the type and length of experience within the industry and education.
