Grand Traverse Plastics was established in 1981 in a small facility located in Williamsburg, MI, just outside of Traverse City. GTP has always been focused on providing high quality, cost competitive components and assemblies that meet or exceed our customers requirements. Over the next 40 years GTP has grown to include 3 plants, 130 employees, and our sales and engineering facility located in Troy, MI.
Today GTP is a USA Tier 1 and 2 supplier to the automotive, material handling, and industrial markets with a reputation of providing customers with components and assemblies using honed manufacturing capabilities, engineering expertise and experience in a wide range of resin materials. About the Job
Responsible for new business development with existing and new customers. Account management for assigned customers. Act as the single point of contact representing GTP to the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Full-service Account Management responsibilities for assigned customers.
- Customer contact for new business opportunities.
- Support program management, engineering, and related activities as needed.
- Contract management: contract review, pre-production, production, and service.
- Develop and grow the business between GTP and assigned customer base.
- Support engineering change management activities.
- Promotes GTP to current and potential customers, using sales presentations and other media.
- Maintain assigned customer relationships.
- Lead all quote activity with GTP Cost Estimating.
- Disseminates current and potential customer information to the company.
- Provide sales forecasts information to support AOP and planning activities.
- Respond to assigned customer requests.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- May be required to support quality, engineering and other functions as needed.
- Travel and out-of-town overnight stays as required.
About You
Related college degree and previous experience in an OEM automotive Account Manager role. Ability to maintain professional working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Self-starter, proactive, independent, resourceful, flexible, and reliable
