Job Title:Sports Alliance Program Coordinator
Department: Community Relations
Reports to: Senior Director, Community Relations and FCC Foundation
Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for oversight, direction, and support of the Sports Alliance Program, which is designed to help curb gun violence affecting youth and young adults in Cincinnati’s under-resourced neighborhoods. The Sports Alliance Program is in partnership with the City of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Reds, Xavier University, Saturday Hoops, and several other partners with the goal of reducing gun violence in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati. This is a coordinator role and includes recruiting, training, program coordination, collaboration, and community engagement with all applicable partners, schools, and other organizations. This role will manage additional community programs for FC Cincinnati and FC Cincinnati Foundation as they are launched.

What You’ll Do:
Project Planning & Management:
  • Meet the goals of the Program by working closely with partners, schools, and other organizations to provide a high-quality, successful program that recruits, counsels, and mentors youth and young adults in Cincinnati.
  • Develop a strong, productive relationship with the designated school district(s) where Program and services will be primarily delivered.
  • Manage the establishment of the Program within the local community including the school districts, higher education and other community partners.
  • Lead the Program team: provide supervision, leadership, and training to Program advisors.
  • Lay the groundwork for scaling the Program to other communities outside of the West End.
Participant Relationship Management:
  • Effectively support and communicate with Program participants including onboarding into the program, maintain regular communication with the participants and their guardians, and provide support as necessary to help participants overcome barriers related to the Program.

Partnership Management:
  • Develop strong relationships and act as the main liaison between community partners, schools, and other organizations to facilitate and support the successful implementation of the Program.
Outreach and Advocacy:
  • Seek, recognize, and utilize opportunities to promote the Program through community outreach.
  • Serve as an advocate through communication with sports organizations, governmental partners, and universities, communication with parents, collaboration with schools, and communication and cooperation with outside community outreach programs.
  • Formulate and manage a community outreach plan to educate the local community on the Program and resources available.

What You’ll Need:
  • Experience working with students or young people.
  • Experience with project or program management.
  • Experience with youth development, education, community outreach, or similar experience.
  • Proven success in working with diverse populations (students, parents, volunteers, school staff, and corporate representatives) in a variety of settings, including those from low-income and/or urban backgrounds. Ability to navigate and adapt to different populations based on their needs with professionalism and diplomacy.
