  • This position will be responsible for supporting company leadership in reducing workplace safety hazards, reducing occupational injuries and aircraft damages, and process standardization. This position resides in the Regulatory and Environmental Compliance organization.

What you'll do

  • Proactively identify and mitigate hazards in new and existing systems, procedures, and processes.
  • Lead the efforts and the initiatives that focus on reducing occupational injuries and aircraft damages.
  • Conduct extensive research on industry standards and innovative solutions to safety.
  • Develop a project timeline and oversee it from beginning to implementation.
  • Collaborate across many work groups within safety organization to ensure all changes are sustainable.
  • Develop and support the implementation of the company’s environmental and employee safety policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with all levels of airport personnel to explain models, provide support, evaluate changes, and achieve buy in to processes and practices.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative observations/data to develop information, evaluate key performance indicators to drive solutions to root causes, and model requirements to be used to make operational decisions.
  • Assist local management in investigating accidents and incidents.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills required.
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving.
  • Proficient computer skills are required with knowledge of information systems and database management (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Certified Safety Professional preferred.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, and simulation software.
  • Experience working with union or frontline level employees.
  • Data analytics skills and experience.
  • Understanding of ergonomics.
  • Knowledge of Tableau is preferred.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex requirements to large audiences who possess a wide variety of subject matter expertise.
  • Ability to follow through and complete projects as individual contributor or collaborate as a team member with effective drive for results.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task workload.
  • Experience in working with vendors and industry organizations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization.
  • Work independently with multiple work groups within and outside of the company.
  • Strong organizational skills required with the ability to manage numerous projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills needed to effectively inform and persuade.
  • Critical thinker with a growth mindset, who is organized, self-motivated and has a natural ability to prioritize requests from stakeholders.
  • Independent judgement and decision-making capabilities are essential.
