Position Summary:
The Special Event Sales Coordinator is expected to provide excellent customer service and the ability to work in a high-pressure, fast paced environment. A successful Special Event Sales/Staff is able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and is able to multi-task; make reasonable recommendations to customers that are consistent with standards of the catering department; strong attention to detail; must be able to maintain well documented, organized, accurate, and up-to-date files in order to serve client and employer in the most expedient and knowledgeable manner. Positive and productive interaction with clients and staff is paramount in this position.
Pay: $20 - $23 / hour

Job Duties:
•Recording all changes to events and notifying all parties as soon as possible.
•Prepare weekly BEO packets and distribute them to all necessary parties.
•Processing of all deposits and payments.
•Maintain accurate deposit reports.
•Screening incoming phone calls and taking detailed messages for the catering office.
•Creates client files and continually monitors files to make sure each file is complete with signed contract, signed BEO, deposit reports, and a copy of post event checks.
•Assists DOC with conducting CMA’s. (Competitive market analysis)
•Greeting clients and retrieving contact information if needed.
•Occasional site tours with potential clients.
•Treats sensitive/confidential information with appropriate discretion.
•Ability to take initiative, self directed, and results-oriented.
•Other duties as assigned by DOC.
•Must wear approved manufacturer certified slip resistant or non-slip shoes at all times while working
•Participate in and pass alcohol awareness and safety training classes
Experience/Required Skills/Abilities:
•1 year experience in Special Events or similar role required
•Excellent relationship building skills with different departments, locations, and employees within the restaurant
•Flexible team player; works well under pressure
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Knowledge and experience in a hospitality and/or restaurant or events environment
•Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate in English.
Schedule Requirements:
•Schedule may fluctuate based on departmental requirements
Physical Demands:
This is an administrative position in an office environment. Must be able to sit or stand for hours at a time. Time may also be spent in a restaurant environment or Special Event setting.
