Job Description

The Opportunity:

Mattel is currently seeking an Industrial Engineer/Supply Chain Intern in Fort Worth, Texas SW DC. This position will require the person to be based on-site in the SW DC. Primary responsibilities include supporting and providing recommendations for process improvement and updating network productivity standards for VAS (Value Added Service) function that will improve productivity and reduce cost. Network VAS annual labor spend was $18M in 2022 and is expected to grow to $22M in 2023 based on volume increases. This position will provide a breadth of understanding of assembly and distribution operations in VAS implementing productivity improvements to reduce labor spend.

What Your Impact Will Be:

• Concepts and techniques of process and operational improvement.
• Proficiency in standard operating instructions, data analysis, product/process standardization.
• Can demonstrate a sense of process standardization and training employees on that.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to drive scalability/efficiency to drive optimization/improvement in terms of productivity and cost savings.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to work and the ability to work independently.
• Basic skills CAD software to review drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Improve overall productivity by ~5% leading to a >$1M annual cost savings.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred
• 1-3 years related job experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; both verbal and written
• Proficient MS Office skills required, including Excel and Power point.
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills required; ability to make recommendations based on data analysis
• Self-starter, eager to learn and organized
