PURPOSE: To assume full responsibility, subject to specifications and company policies for the procurement of specifically assigned commodities.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

• Interface closely with Engineering, QA, Marketing to identify parts & suppliers that are candidates for best sourcing.
• Identify and quantify the economic opportunities for, and lead strategic sourcing projects
• Develop formal commodity strategies, identify, develop qualified suppliers and manage supplier performance and strategic relationships.
• Support New Product Development activities to meet Company stage gate objectives
• Support Demand Planning with an understanding of the Domestic and InternationalLogistics markets to maximize lean objectives while meeting Company service levels.
• Achieve Company performance objectives, particularly business working capital.
• Deliver “best in class” procurement function
• Report key measurements and take corrective actions where necessary.
• Ensure quality, delivery and total cost objectives are met.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management/Purchasing/Engineering or a related field.
• Five to ten years procurement/materials/engineering experience in manufacturing environment, with a focus on international sourcing/travel experience
• MBA, CPM, CPIM, CPSM certification a plus.
• Experience in dealing with suppliers and excellent negotiation skills (understand cost drivers)
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Project management skills and work as a cross functional Project Team Leader.
• Leadership skills, self-initiative, problem solving, and an ability to read blueprints
• Understanding of Lincoln products and Lincoln Supply Chain, Production Planning and Demand Planning
• An excellent understanding of SAP / Ariba is beneficial..
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity software, such as Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
