ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Solutions Architect to support one of our Defense clients. The successful Solutions Architect will plan, design, deploy, and support a mission critical project for the Military Health System. The candidate will provide our client with technical leadership including directing activities and projects on the client’s behalf regarding enterprise architecture, risk management, and artifact creation, among other responsibilities. The candidate must bring six or more years of progressive experience, including knowledge of the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
This position is primarily work from home within the San Antonio, TX or Falls Church, VA areas.
Typical responsibilities include:
Responsible for developing and maintaining agency enterprise architecture documents and frameworks ensuring it is strategically aligned with customer organizational goals and objectives.
Use knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) to turn functional requirements into technical solutions.
Create artifacts using alternate applications (Excel, Visio, etc.) for processing in Rational System Architect (RSA).
Integrate new technologies into the existing infrastructure to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
Maintain security compliance, standards within the technology operations, safeguarding our systems, and data cost reduction.
Analyze, recommend, develop, and deploy configuration changes to existing solutions to ensure standardization, decrease cost, complexity and/or risk and increase security and business continuity.
Recommend, engineer, and deploy new solutions to ensure standardization, decrease cost, complexity and/or risk and increase security and business continuity.
Engineer and deploy new solutions as required for new infrastructure or business requirements and needs.
Recommend cost-effective, feasible solutions that meet capacity requirements, provide long-term scalability, and anticipate growth and performance needs.
Attend planning sessions to understand business and technical requirements.
Conduct research and analysis to develop white papers, briefings, standard operating procedures (SOPs), DHA guidance (DHA policy writing), and executive summaries to present to senior leaders.
Support continuous process improvement and standardization.
Develop and update business documents and requirements, such as business rules and templates.
Required Qualifications:
BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field
6+ years of experience network engineer, or a related field
Experience with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Rational System Architect (RSA)
Baseline certifications IAM Level III (e.g., CCISO, CISSP, CISM, or GSLC) and IAT III (CASP+ CE, CISA, GCED, GCIH, etc.)
Experience organizing, tracking, and managing multiple projects and deadlines
Intermediate knowledge of networking and systems administration; and the ability to troubleshoot problems
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio)
Excellent oral and written communication, as well as presentation skills
Ability to work independently and multi-task to meet deadlines
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
TS security clearance
Preferred Experience:
Experience or desire to learn and work with Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, milCloud and OCI
Knowledge and experience working with Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and associated technologies preferred
Experience with DHA or the Military preferred
