COMPENSATION: $85,000-$115,000/yr

Role Summary

The Software Test Engineerwill assist in the development of test automation software. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing our Software Test suite, which will be used for in house and manufacturing product testing. The candidate will also collaborate with other engineering groups such as mechanical, electrical and optics to gather test software requirements, and provide software tools for streamlining product development.

Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive test plans that cover the entire system, outlining the testing approach, scope, resources, and schedule
• Write code for automating test procedures for product validation, as well as develop inhouse test tools
• Conduct end-to-end testing of the entire system, including hardware, software, networks, and any integrated components to ensure they meet performance and reliability requirements
• Verify the seamless integration of individual system components and subsystems
• Create detailed test cases that cover various scenarios, including functional, performance, reliability, and compatibility testing
• Conduct regression testing to ensure that new changes or updates do not negatively impact the overall system functionality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and system architects, to understand requirements and contribute to overall system quality
• Document and track defects, communicate issues to development teams, and work collaboratively to resolve them
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies, tools, and overall quality assurance practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in systems testing
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and processes
• Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Shell scripting) for test automation
• Ability to work in a LINUX environment
• Knowledge of hardware communication interfaces such as Ethernet, Serial, USB
• Familiarity with version control systems such as git and issue tracking tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes preferred
• Knowledge of hardware testing and integration preferred
• Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations preferred
