What You'll Get To Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain an automation framework in Katalon Studio using best practices
- Execute automated test cases and report
- Troubleshoot and debug issues with Test Automation scripts
- Collaborate with development and testing teams to identify and prioritize automation opportunities
- Create and escalate defects to development team
- Attend daily standups with the product development team and participate in planning meetings
- Refactor existing manual test cases to optimize for automation
- Execute regression manual test cases during specific periods in the development lifecycle
What You'll Bring:
- Experience with Katalon Studio a plus
- Experience with reporting defects in incident tracking systems
- Experience testing client and server software systems a plus
- Experience with databases such as SQL Server a plus
- QA testing experience with large enterprise systems
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3 – 5 years of experience in software automation testing
- Experience in data-driven testing and developing automation scripts
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Position is located in Rochester NY
Competencies
- Ability to quickly learn, and become proficient with complex applications, understanding their interactions with other installed products, and how they operate within an overall system
- Candidate must be a self-motivated individual contributor with a strong desire to continually grow technical expertise
- A winning attitude, personally accountable and determined team player, able to accept direction
- Familiarity with automated software testing tools such as Katalon Studio
- Familiarity with software tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Zephyr
- Strong understanding of both server and desktop Microsoft operating systems and applications and virtual machines
- Awareness of risk management and mitigation techniques
- Root cause analysis skills
- Ability to execute as well as suggest continuous improvements to QA processes and concepts including test case preparation, and testing methodologies
- Network configuration and management, including a strong knowledge of networking infrastructure and technologies
Communications
- Collaborate with a team of developers and testers
- Work closely with product managers to understand requirements
- Strong, frequent written and verbal communication to peer and management audiences
- Detail oriented, demanding completeness and adherence to highest standards with excellent time and project management skill
