Software Test Engineer - 3Rd Party Systems Integration

Quality Assurance Technical Support is a group within the Quality Assurance department, which is part of the Technology division and is responsible for providing environment setups and technical support for anyone within the Technology division. Working under moderate supervision, as a Software Test Engineer, you will support the hardware and software environments needed to successfully install and support iA’s products as handled by the Product and Development Teams. In addition, you will provide testing support for all consumables and third-party applications and utilities, which are used in conjunction with these products, is required. The role includes providing additional environments “on-demand” for products, as well as file movement and updates to iA’s products and environments, as needed. As a Software Test Engineer, you will be required to have extensive interaction with the internal client base to provide the necessary environments, updates, and troubleshooting for supported products.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with the Product, QA, and Mechanical Engineering Teams to help determine testing expectations. (Hours, hardware needed, environments needed, product Quantity, and resources needed).
• Prioritizes assigned test cases to ensure tasks are completed by the anticipated deadline(s).
• Review Design Docs and Technical Specs for product features that affect the update or configuration of software or hardware of the product.
• Complete quality inspections for all 3rd Party Products to be certified.
• Develop, and maintain Test Plans and Reports based on Product Specs, Customer/iA expectations and qualifications.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide specific test setups as needed.
• Create, maintain, and support virtual environments needed for testing and development of company products and supported third-party products.
• Provide input when necessary to groups responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining documentation related to hardware/software requirements and other technical customer-facing documentation.
• Perform “-ility” testing – compatibility, install-ability, interoperability, maintainability, reliability, usability, and security testing, as needed.
• Helps define and develop test tools that will make testing more efficient.
• Participates in developing standards for test cases and mentor’s peers in adhering to these standards.
• Create, maintain, and support internal product environments for Teams within Technology.
• Participate in developing and improving the product requirements standards, procedures, and development
• Pursue a program of self-development through the use of selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education.
• Identify and communicate possible improvements in the work process for management and peers and work toward continuous improvement of quality processes
• Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management
• Responsible for monitoring internal requests and providing responses in a timely manner with a resolution or acknowledgement that the question, issue, or request received is currently being investigated
• Perform monthly maintenance and apply Windows Updates to the entire catalog of QA and Development VM images
• Perform data backups and data restores upon request.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of previous work experience in Software Support, Product Design, Software Testing, Training, or previous work experience preferably in the Pharmaceutical or technical Industry with an understanding of pharmacy workflows and terminology.
• Experience with Microsoft OS and SQL Server; previous work experience in the software industry; experience with the platforms on which iA’s products operate (Microsoft OS/SQL Server); proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); highly developed testing experience and solid troubleshooting skills; expert in test theory and best practices in Software Testing; deep understanding of Agile development methodology; experience working with external customers.

Compensation:

The estimated base annual salary range for this position is $62,069.00 to $94,453.00, though a candidate's base annual salary shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience. This position may additionally be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
