Axient -: DEFENSE Overview:
Axient is seeking a qualified individual to provide advisory and assistance services associated with software development. Specifically, the Software Engineer will develop applications to address integrated master scheduling needs of the 804th Test Group at Arnold Air Force Base, headquarters of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC). In particular, technical efforts will build upon/mature prior work to engineer a multi-user comprehensive scheduling application to assist 804TG leadership in managing test work.
Responsibilities:
This position will review current architectures, provide recommendations in order to meet established goals; prototype and evaluate recommended solutions, and assist in thoroughly documenting the deployed system. Other functions that may be performed include advice and assistance in support of:
- Development, integration, and use of software
- Rapid prototyping of solutions using industry proven patterns and models
- Making recommendations for improving the performance and capability of existing systems and those under development
- Analyzing existing and proposed interfaces to determine if performance can be improved
Qualified candidates will have directly related experience in test methods and related tools. Candidates should be capable of performing thorough research, analysis, and troubleshooting. They should also have or be able to develop an understanding of the specific procedures and processes specific to AEDC and USAF regulations. As such, AEDC experience is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in related discipline (Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) from an accredited school
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience
- Fluency in software development, best practices, tools, and methods through training and experience.
- Knowledge/experience with Windows based development, and familiarity with Python, JavaScript, and other languages is a plus, as is experience in Agile methodologies.
- Be able to interface and communicate well with contractor staff and Government counterparts.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be dedicated to achieving high standards of quality and excellence.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance at required level (Secret).
- Prior experience working at a military facility highly desirable (AEDC experience a plus)
