DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be a first-level supervisor over subordinate social work staff who provide social work, counseling and case management services to consumers with profound mental disabilities at Danville State Hospital, and confirm their needs are met. You will ensure work is completed in a timely manner and that it is consistent with federal, state, and hospital goals. You will furnish a wide variety of direct interventions to consumers and their families that are designed to enhance problem solving and coping skills; establish links with community systems that provide resources, services, and opportunities; and facilitate the development of comprehensive aftercare support systems for those consumers who are subsequently discharged to community placements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational need.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Social Worker 2 or a Forensic Social Worker 2; and a master’s degree in social work or social welfare; or
- Three years of professional social work experience, including one year in a consultative, administrative, advisory, or lead work capacity; and a master’s degree in social work or social welfare.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
