Job description

The Program Clinical Supervisor is a key member of the Intensive Community Program (ICP) program team. The Program Clinical Supervisor’s primary responsibility involves providing guidance, leadership, oversight, and support to the clinicians, family support specialists and case management staff in their efforts to provide quality treatment for the clients served by the Intensive Community Program with the goal of helping the clients remain successfully in the community. The Intensive Community Program (ICP) Clinical Supervisor, working in conjunction with the Program Director, is responsible for implementing program policies, contributing to program innovation, and facilitating interactions between clinicians, family support specialists, case manager, other professionals, and parents. The Clinical Supervisor demonstrates professional competency with proper utilization of supervision and consultation with other professionals. Administratively, the Program Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the continued effective functioning of in home treatment, crisis management and related activities.

Experience and Skills:

  • Educational Requirements: Master's in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Licensed Professional counselor.
  • Licensure/Certification Requirements: Clinical Licensure required (Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist), Valid driver’s license, American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certified.
    • Experience Level: One to three years supervisory experience in a youth welfare or human services position working with youth with mental health and behavioral issues.
    • Specific Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements: Knowledge of Youth Welfare System, basic youth development, and issues related to the affects of abuse and neglect. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, to communicate with youth in a supportive, sympathetic and nurturing manner, to implement behavior intervention strategies, to be action-oriented in achieving program goals and solving problems and to maintain professionalism in difficult and stressful situations. Demonstrated strong skills in oral and written expression with excellent interpersonal skills is required. Must be a strong positive role model for staff and youth in the program; i.e. model appropriate behavior and dress, model positive interpersonal skills, etc.
  • Personal Characteristics: Ability to be a good team player and leader, ability to demonstrate flexibility in approach to job and others, ability to be insightful, self-reflecting and aware of impact on others, ability to be patient and empathic and ability to show good judgment in pressured situations.
  • Cultural Competency: Familiarity, sensitivity, and/or experience working with diverse populations. Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred.
  • Physical Abilities: Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations. These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the abilities to supervise groups of youth and conduct various therapeutic and socio-recreational activities that involve movement and interaction with youth.

Required to maintain valid driver’s license, own car and ability to drive.
