Responsibilities:
The Foster Care Consultant is responsible for providing consultation and supervision to assigned foster youth and foster parents.
- Provide consultation/case management services to assigned Adriel foster youth and foster parents.
- Establish service plans for youth.
- Coordinate the youth’s treatment program.
- See that assessments and evaluations are completed as required.
- Provide clinical case management services as assigned.
- Be the liaison and coordinator with the referring agency for the youth.
- Respond to crises which youth in Foster Care may experience.
- Implement the teaching family model within assigned foster homes and develop the skills of assigned foster parents.
- Work with the youth’s biological family in those cases where appropriate.
- Manage and maintain case load as assigned by the regional manager
- Follow the service-delivery rules and policies. Conduct all required home visits, contacts, and observations. Provide written documentation of service plans, contacts with Foster Caregivers and youth, and feedback. Share with other treatment team members as appropriate.
- Maintain youth files.
- Provide training to the foster parents as requested.
- Maintain strong, professional working relationships with all internal and external consumers and be an integral member of the entire Foster Care team. Required expectations include attendance at staff meetings, training, sharing on-call rotation, and participation in special events, office coverage, referrals, etc.
- May be required to assist in the recruitment of foster homes in the community into which youth can be placed for Foster Care as required by the regional manager.
- Assist with the successful marketing plan for all counties served by the region as required by the regional manager.
- Demonstrate a high level of understanding and ensure adherence to the Teaching-Family Model. In addition, develop and maintain a working knowledge of licensing regulations, standards, and requirements.
- Receive and maintain training in accordance with ODJFS, the Teaching Family Association (TFA) standards, CANS, and applicable licensure board.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
This role requires a bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, behavioral health, or a related field. The candidate is required to be a licensed Social Worker, a licensed professional counselor or a marriage and family therapist.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to maintain objectivity, fairness, and consistency.
- Organized, detail-oriented, personable, proactive, able to work successfully both independently and with a team, flexible, and able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Valid driver’s license, transportation, and auto insurance required.
- Have knowledge and operational knowledge of required technology.
- Empathy for the goals and practices of a faith based agency serving families and children.
- Have sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of Adriel’s youth.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,970.00 - $57,362.00 per year
