Description

Summary

Serves as an integral member of the Creative Services Department, this position will support SPTHB's Social Media and communications development and strategy to increase the reach of SPTHB across multiple Social Media platforms. This role will focus on driving additional engagement on Social Media, encouraging visitors to deepen the connection with the organization and advancing a consistent digital voice. They will develop and promote posts for Social Media, enhance, and protect the organization's brand and mission. They will also be responsible for the day-to-day posting on SPTHB's Social Media channels and be an ambassador for the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop content for the SPTHB's Social Media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and website), monitoring the accounts, responding to questions/comments, and producing quarterly analytics reports.

  • Create and author an organizational Social Media strategy that encompasses both regular scheduled posts that assist in honing and defining SPTHB's Social Media brand and rapid response strategies.

  • Develop and implement a monthly content calendar on a timely schedule that allows the SPTHB Creative Services Team and Tribal Epidemiology Center (TEC) Program Teams to review and/or provide input.

  • Provide monthly reports and weekly updates on SPTHB's social platform metrics to understand reach and performance. The reports should analyze content performance and provide guidance and recommendations on the Social Media strategy.Manage SPTHB's social channels to steward the organization's social audiences by responding and answering inquiries that come in via channels and connect audiences to past posts and resources. Channels should connect to the organization's key messaging and communications strategy, and monitor engagement on social channels such as comments, direct messages, and tags.

  • Manage the process of Social Media content creation, including written content, graphics, and videos, for SPTHB's Social Media channels in coordination with Tribal Epidemiology Center (TEC) Program Teams. This includes working with the Creative Director and the Creative Services Team on needs and timelines for projects.

  • Lead the engagement of influencers and Social Media strategy for various programmatic projects to build a communicating culture and internal capacity for increasing our reach and influence.

  • Create and disseminate social toolkits for partners, supporters, and influencers for SPTHB campaigns and projects.

  • Identify opportunities for SPTHB to advance our mission and engage in current conversations and trends by monitoring Social Media platforms and channels.

  • Implement the brand style guide and tone in social copy, posts, and communications to create brand consistency.

  • Run and analyze reports using the SPTHB Creative Services marketing tool and Social Media monitoring/listening tool for the organization and provide insights and strategic advice on trending topics and issues; strategically insert SPTHB and TEC campaigns into relevant conversations that are trending.

Qualifications

Education,Experience,Skills,andAbilities

BA/BS or higher qualification and/or suitable experience in Communications, Marketing, Media, Journalism, or Science Communication

Preferred experience in an operations role at a nonprofit, tribal, media, or related organization

Experience working directly with an Executive Director.

Experience developing and operationalizing Social Media processes of a program or organization.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software and digital design tools

Experience using Social Media platforms to promote a brand or advocacy causes

Knowledge of Social Media best practices, including knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn

Knowledge of Social Media content creation programs (i.e. Canva, Adobe Express), Instagram reels and marketing tools (i.e. HubSpot Marketing Hub, Buffer, Hootsuite)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate through software

Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

High level of initiative with the ability to work autonomously and remotely and the ability to interface with colleagues across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas

Ability to be flexible to gather information for content creation

Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output

Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs

Content creation and copywriters' skills

Demonstrate ability to communicate with diverse audiences, including an ability to explain complex tribal public health issues that relate to population health and potentially stigmatizing issues in a simple manner

Knowledge / Special Skills:

Self-motivation skills; demonstrate good oral and written communication skills; decision making and time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects; working effectively under pressure; ability to build positive work relationships with internal and external partners; ability to interact professionally with the public.

Travel:

Regular in-state travel is required for this PHS position and employee will be expected to travel regularly to help carry out program activities and objectives.
