Overview:

Kate Somerville is seeking an ambitious, highly motivated candidate who is deeply immersed in the social landscape. You will be the driving force behind the development and execution of all Social Mediaand Content strategies and play a crucial role in enhancing our brand awareness and driving growth. As Social Media Manager and Content Strategist, you will be responsible for all facets of Social Media management, including content creation, community management, and analytics tracking. This role requires a creative mindset, a knack for crafting unique, on-brand storytelling, a data-driven approach, and a strong passion for the skincare industry.

This is a hybrid position and requires being in our El Segundo office 2 days/week (Tuesday & Wednesday).

This position blends strategy, creativity, and execution and will directly report to the Director of Marketing – Brand Activation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the creation of all Social Media content, driving result-driven campaigns across multiple platforms.
• Ideate, create, and execute best-in-class strategies aligned with Kate Somerville’s key objectives and target audience.
• Strategically curate the concepts and ideas for broader storytelling and educational content, while actively participating on camera.
• Manage the Social Media calendar, day-to-day posting, and performance monitoring to ensure creative quality and cohesion.
• Maintain and nurture the Kate Somerville online community by actively engaging with followers, replying to comments and messages, and fostering meaningful conversations. Continuously monitor channels for real-time engagement opportunities.
• Ensure brand consistency in messaging, voice, and aesthetics across all Social Media platforms.
• Stay updated on Social Media trends and opportunities to position Kate Somerville at the forefront of the skincare industry.
• Prepare and deliver performance tracking reports and presentations that effectively communicate key insights, trends and recommendations.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure excellent social integration and support for product launches, promotions, events, marketing campaigns and more.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

Skills, Experience and Education Required:

• 3+ years of professional experience in Social Media management or related marketing roles.
• A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or journalism is preferred.
• Must be based in Los Angeles, CA, and open to working in a hybrid model.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating and managing Social Media content strategy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail and grammar.
• A quick, adaptable, and natural storyteller who understands the Kate Somerville brand, voice, and aesthetic appeal.
• High-energy and upbeat personality, comfortable in front of the camera.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while maintaining a positive attitude and growth mindset.
• Thorough understanding of Social Media best practices, platform algorithms, spotting trends + cultural moments, and measurement metrics for success.
• Proficiency with Social Media analytical tools such as Dash Hudson, Tribe Dynamics, Planoly, as well as native platform reporting tools for Meta, TikTok, etc., and social scheduling applications.
• Passion for all things beauty – skincare knowledge highly preferred!

The expected base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results
