Job Description
David Zwirner is seeking a part time Social Media Intern. Qualifications include ability to multitask, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a desire to work in a fast paced environment. Comfort and familiarity in using Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and other Social Media tools and channels as well as Google Drive is required; Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Premiere Pro and Photoshop), Figma, and Notion, are a plus, as is a curiosity for Social Media and online trends, and an openness for engaging in a range of interdisciplinary projects.
The Social Media internship is a unique opportunity to grow a nuanced understanding of the gallery's relationships with key art world figures and gain keen insight into working in Social Media, all while working closely with the Digital, Design, Content, and Books teams, as well as the core Social team.
Primary responsibilities include:
General Social Media support across David Zwirner and David Zwirner Books
- Regularly clean and update shared Social Media resources to keep consistent information across all gallery touchpoints
- Organize and upkeep our Social Media content both on-platform and off
- Research and share insights on David Zwirner's Social Media followers
- Support with reporting, identifying helpful tools integrated within our existing systems (Dash Hudson, Facebook & IG analytics)
- Support with IG management: flagging and saving relevant User Generated Content, approving pending tags, engaging in DMs, liking and commenting on relevant content, etc.
- Complete long term projects including Competitor Analysis, Influencer Research, and Social Media Channel Research to be outlined and workshopped further upon ideation and interests
- Opportunities to collaborate with extended marketing departments like design, Social Media, digital marketing, books, and more based on interest
- Engage in sharing inspirational content with the Social Media team, practicing looking at posts online and evaluating what makes them successful (or not!)
- Support the Social Media Director and Social Media Manager with requests as needed Influencer & Event Support
- Update influencer list with relevant information to support the Social Media team in building out a comprehensive and global database of art-interested creators or leaders in the field
- Assist on-site with press previews, private and public events (including artist and curator talks, exhibition walkthroughs, book signings, cocktail parties, and more) by greeting and checking in guests
- Support with tracking RSVPs for influencer events.
The Winter/Spring 2024 internship runs from approximately January 3–April 21. Position hours are 10am - 6pm and the candidate will need to be available at least 3 days a week. All interns are paid New York State minimum wage of $16/hour. Candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. Only qualified candidates will be contacted. Absolutely no calls or walk-ins please.
