The Communications ministry is looking for a creative multi-disciplinary content creator to
manage our digital and print content team. This management position will lead in
coordinating and facilitating the direction as well as the strategic implementation of all
internal and external communications that will consistently and effectively articulate,
enable and fulfill the mission and vision of First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs.
This team consists of all those involved in all forms and areas (below) of communications
to our constituents. This position will direct, oversee, and facilitate the work of the
communications team.

Qualifications and Required Skills:
• Degree in Communications, media or related field or a minimum of 3-5 years experience
in Communication. Knowledge and understanding of effective church communications is
important.
• Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications
strategies.
• Demonstrate competency in web management and all forms of communication
technology.
• Proven ability to guide projects from concept to completion.
• Organized and able to manage multiple projects.
• Action-oriented and displays focus, passion and initiative. Takes appropriate action when
something needs to be done.
• Relates well to all kinds of people, builds effective relationships, communicates effectively
both interpersonally and corporately.
• Creative thinker and highly productive, working in fast-paced environment.
• Committed to improvement, seeks constructive criticism, understands strengths and
weaknesses.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Competent in Microsoft and Apple office programs to include, but not limited to, Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, calendar, and email.
• A successful person in this position will have a significant understanding of the goals and
objectives of a faith-based organization such as First Church and, in turn, have a strong
personal faith in Christ.
Desired Skills:
• Website administration (WordPress preferred)
• Social media management
• Digital marketing
• Familiarity with SEO
• Experience with both print and electronic media
• Familiarity with project management software (Asana, Basecamp, Monday, etc.)
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Communication, Marketing, Design, etc.) or at least two
years of comparable work experience
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• WEBSITES: Lead all efforts to the enhancement and perpetual upgrading of the First
Church websites. Proactively work to ensure an effective presence on the web including
style/presence, search engines and new technology. Coordinate webpage maintenance to
ensure new and consistent information (articles, links, stories, and events) are posted in a
regular and timely manner. Conduct appropriate analytics to access and evaluate the
usage and effectiveness of the websites.
• PR/MARKETING: Organize, prioritize and communicate promotional items related to a
variety of programs and activities at the church. Create communication strategies to
effectively market, inform and promote these programs and/or events. Work
collaboratively with First Church ministries in effectively communicating and carrying out
given programs. Oversee all written materials related to the above.
• SOCIAL MEDIA: Manage ongoing Social Media messaging and communication strategies in
coordination with others involved in the “creative” team. Creatively build followings on
various Social Media outlets including, but not limited to, Facebook and Instagram.
• DESIGN MANAGEMENT: Work collaboratively with the Communication Designer in
overseeing and coordinating efforts to design all art and promotional materials related to
church-wide activities with a high standard of creativity, excellence and effectiveness.
Monitor the look and feel of all promotional materials representing First Church. Oversea
the use of logos and images that represent First Church.
• PRINT MEDIA: Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print media
including, but not limited to, First Things First, the Epistle, brochures, annual reports, etc.
Develop creative ways to communicate desired messages in above print media.
• MEDIA RELATIONS: Develop policies and procedures related to media relations. Oversee
efforts related to securing or responding to media attention. Create a positive relationship
with local media.
• SUPERVISE: Oversee the work of the Communication Designers, Publication Staff and
others as deemed appropriate.
