Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring SMTS Product Development Engineer to Develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products. Design and develop specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life, including defining test configurations and product sample hardware requirements. Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifestyle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Design and validate testing on AMD ICs (APU, CPU, and GPU) and their associated reference design platforms - PCBs & Systems, including performing EMC/RFI validation tests, debug tests, and write internal test reports and assisting in EMC certification with Third Party test Labs. Work with EMC/RFI architects to support their Product Validation and Certification needs and to develop ASIC and Platform Design guidelines and test procedures to support validation and compliance tests. Interface with ASIC Program management teams to define dependencies, deliverables and, if required, contingencies on AMD Product Compliance Tests. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
