Position Overview
This position will provide a wide range of services for minor capital renovations and remodeling, building maintenance, systems repair, replacement projects, exterior and site development projects, safety and security upgrades, ADA projects and feasibility studies.
Duties may include:
- Balancing a portfolio Small Works Projects in varying stages of planning and implementation;
- Managing and overseeing all phases of planning, estimating, design and construction of small projects;
- Serving as liaison between the client and the entity completing the project;
- Coordinating communications among stakeholders, employees and contractors involved in projects;
- Employing a variety of project delivery methods ranging from in-house design and construction to bidding, selecting and managing contracted consulting and construction services, including coordinating with local, state and federal code and construction administration agencies;
- Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
Three years planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing architectural and/or engineering projects including:
- Managing a portfolio of projects at varying stages of development and completion
- Preparing cost estimates and project budgets, then monitoring expenses
- Analyzing projects for code compliance
- Leading projects that required/included structural, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, electrical and site development systems
- Using spreadsheets, project scheduling software and estimating software to plan, track and manage projects
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other
- Possess Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles.
Additional Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, landscape architecture or a professional design field.
Preferred Experience:
- Developing construction project estimates.
- General construction practices, specifically architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing renovation.
- Using computer applications commonly used in architecture, engineering and landscape architecture (e.g., CADD, 3D modeling and rendering software, web applications such as HTML.)
- Managing a fleet of company vehicles from selection and purchase through allocation, maintenance and disposal.
