Summary

Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, this role will provide project and construction management oversight for all electrical and instrumentation upgrades and/or installation portions throughout various projects. 

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the larger project team to help develop the E&I scope for projects.
• Oversee electrical and instrumentation construction activities, general contractors, and workers to ensure a high level of quality and safety.
• Creates and reviews Requests for Information (RFI) and Change Orders.
• Reviews contractors work for compliance with approved specifications, standards, procedures, and generally accepted work practices.
• Ensures that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with contract documents and good engineering practices.
• Develops and maintain project cost/change orders, adherence to budget, and forecasting.
• Identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues
• Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals.
• Assists in managing and reviewing the progress of contractors’ schedules.
• Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and recommending actions. Routinely communicate with project stakeholders on status.
• Ensure timely closeout of projects including handover of documents for archiving.
• Ability to flex work schedule to project needs.

Typical Education

• Electrical Journeyman License, preferred
• And/or associate degree from an accredited university in a related degree field

Relevant Experience

• 10+ years of experience with electrical and/or instrumentation systems in a heavy industrial or process plant environment.
• 5+ years in managing electrical construction projects.
• Supervisory experience and skills.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes such as NFPA, NEC and IEEE Demonstrated ability to work within budgets and to deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and balance competing priorities.
• Must be able to show initiative and be a 'self-starter' to achieve working goals.
