Duties:
- Lead and supervise a team of carpenters in various construction and restoration projects to build to a Passive House standard.
- Perform carpentry tasks such as door hanging, concrete forming, masonry, fixture installation, and construction painting
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects
- Train and mentor junior carpenters
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete multi-disciplinary projects
- Assist in estimating materials and labor costs for projects
-Willingness to perform other job tasks on projects, including installing insulation, hanging and finishing drywall, cabinet installation, etc. as needed.
-Willing to travel up to an hour in and around Nashville to a job site.
Skills:
- Knowledge of Passive House (high-performance building) preferred. Proven experience as a carpenter in the both new construction and large remodels/additions
- Proficient in carpentry techniques and tools
- Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
