Site ManagerJob Summary
Based at our manufacturing site in Kings Mountain, NC, we are hiring a Site Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for daily operations pertaining to production processes, operational analysis, viable production alternatives, recommendations & plans and oversight of key production initiatives targeting improvements in safety, regulatory compliance, production processes & productivity integrity, improved equipment utilization, budgetary considerations / requirements & customer satisfaction.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for Environment, Health & Safety across the Site and ensuring safety best-in-class standards are achieved
Manages directly all aspects of operations across the Site, including Environment, Health & Safety, production, planning, maintenance, warehousing, industrial projects / capex, process improvement, quality, energy consumption optimization and continuous improvement initiatives, in close coordination with Imerys CoE
Ensures products are manufactured and delivered on schedule, and within quality standards and cost objectives
Develops the Site industrial plan in coordination with Operations Director, Industrial Team, Business Planning / Supply Chain and with the support of CoE
Leads Site operations optimization to address competitiveness / demand requirements, incl. capex execution (debottlenecking, extension), flexibility and reduction of lead-times, productivity / energy consumption, maintenance, cost reduction / continuous improvement (I-Cube) programs, in coordination with CoE
Key interfaces: ensures effective coordination with Operations Director, Business Planning / Supply Chain team, Imerys CoE & Purchasing teams, BA Segments, and is supported by Finance & HR Business Partners.
Leader of Employee Engagement; ensuring ALL team members are fully engaged in their work and feel valued and connected to the business unit.
Change Management Advocate; assess current status and seek to implement improvement and change in policies, processes, procedures and mindsets where needed for enhancement to productivity, efficiency, quality and overall work culture.
Mentor and coach operations management team and staff toward a culture of empowerment.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering preferred) plus 3 years experience (including Supervisory experience) OR
- At least 5 years experience in manufacturing management
- Customer focused
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing
- Recognized management skills (ability to manage teams)
- Good knowledge of all operations aspects (Safety, Production, Quality, Process, Capex…)
- Demonstrated capabilities of achieving cost reduction and productivity by promoting a continuous improvement mindset

- Understands cost management, and managing variable, fixed and inventory costs

Equipment Utilization (Cumulative Scheduled / Operational Downtime), targeting 95% efficiency
Performance Efficiency (Actual Output / Design Output), targeting 95% efficiency
Tracked & trended consumable usage variances in line with flex models
Quality Rate (Defects & Rework / Total Production), targeting 99% efficiency
Customer Service targeting on time delivery compliance of 95%
Production Cost % of Product Revenue / Fixed Cost
Performance to Budget / Forecast
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical requirements of this position include reading, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, climbing, repetitive motions, bending - stooping, standing for prolonged periods of time, toleration to heights, toleration of high temperatures, ability to enter confined spaces, balancing, pushing, pulling and ability to operate all hand tools and lift up to 50 lbs.
