OVERVIEW

Supervises, coaches, and works within a team of staff and volunteers supporting the programs and individuals served by Casa Alitas. The Site Coordinator will facilitate and participate in a range of administrative duties, including: Site Lead training, scheduling, and oversight. Duties are split between providing direct support, professional or program activities, supervision, and administrative duties. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists in all aspects of assigned shelter
  • Under the direction of the Operations Managers, provides supervision to assigned Site Leads to include training, scheduling, evaluation, constructive performance feedback, and assuring appropriate staff hours are provided at assigned sites
  • Provides observation and feedback, job performance input, and counseling to assigned Site Leads on an ongoing basis
  • Responsible for compliance with shelter program monitoring rules at all times
  • Conducts regular team meetings, both individually and as a group, to problem solve, provide information and feedback, and to receive input regarding program and client statuses
  • Ensures all program operations are conducted in a safe and appropriate manner and reports issues to the Operations Manager and Associate Director
  • Works with Operations Managers to ensure adequate data collection using the appropriate tools
  • Ensures data, inventory, and orders are accurate and communicated
  • Under the direction of the Operations Managers, maintains financial accountability of program following identified policies and procedures for all tasks and processes
  • Maintains flexible working schedules based upon program need
  • Participates as an active member of the team, maintaining professional and courteous contacts with individuals served, volunteers, staff, and partners
  • Assists in providing direct care at the program sites as directed or required to meet program needs
  • Responsible for on-call duty in case of emergency; shares on-call responsibility with Operations Manager and Associate Director as needed
  • Communicates consistently with staff to include all client specific information, changes/updates in client medical conditions, recommendations, and program plans
  • With Operations Managers' guidance, addresses employee issues and concerns
  • Communicates regularly with Leadership on staffing issues; guest, volunteer, and partner concerns; safety issues; timecard issues, and established procedural changes
  • May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business
  • Completes weekly inspection forms for shelter spaces
  • Completes vehicle inspection logs
  • Creates a monthly activity calendar with guests and staff including recreational and social activities
  • Performs health and safety inspections
  • Demonstrates cultural competency through self-awareness to identify and eliminate any biases; demonstrates awareness and respect for dynamics of differences; demonstrates ongoing learning of different cultures and adaptation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.

  • A degree in Social Work or a related field; or one year related work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to establish rapport with team members and those served
  • Strong organizational abilities to ensure staffing and schedules are maintained
  • Fluent in Spanish verbally and to a moderate level written
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds 15% of the time

REGULATORY

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle report
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Supervisory experience
  • Additional years of directly-related experience
  • An understanding of the Asylum process
