Job description

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you’ll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

As Director of the Single-Family (SF) Seller/Servicer Education Services (SSES) team, you will be supervising a team that designs, develops, and delivers Freddie Mac client-facing learning solutions across the Single-Family business to impact client business outcomes and meet Freddie Mac directives. The team will engage with key business partners to determine and meet client learning needs, develop and report results to senior management, provide subject matter and instructional design expertise, and provide input into a comprehensive “voice of the client” view across the Freddie Mac Seller Engagement department and beyond. Freddie Mac’s SSES team provides an outstanding educational experience, supporting external Business Partners across all segments through a portfolio of 500+ learning solutions. In addition to Seller/Servicers, our training audience includes Housing Finance Agencies, Housing Counselors, Real Estate Professionals, SMAs, MI Companies, Vendors and other industry organizations.

Freddie Mac educational resources and offerings are designed to bring all aspects of a topic into a comprehensive picture that includes technology, products, policy and process. Tapping into mortgage business expertise and innovative instructional design techniques, SSES helps Freddie Mac clients understand what they need to know and why it matters. The department delivers in-person and virtual instructor-facilitated training sessions and creates and provides ongoing updates for client on-demand tutorials, learning clips, job aids, online help, and webinar materials.

The team uses a consultative approach to complete role-based training needs assessments and training plans, design and develop content grounded in real-world scenarios, and focus on continuous improvement.

Your Impact:

  • Cultivate ongoing development and performance of a high-performing team of 25.
  • Support a collaborative team environment that embraces diverse perspectives.
  • Consistently model Freddie Mac competencies/behaviors and provide regular coaching to staff regarding expectations.
  • Lead a team to provide multimodal training offerings to ensure customer understanding of Freddie Mac mortgage products, policies, and guidelines.
  • Drive adoption for priority Single Family initiatives by assisting clients in using new/updated systems/technology to more easily do business with Freddie Mac.
  • Build a differentiated Learner Experience – delighting Freddie Mac clients by using adult learning, design principles and technology that optimizes the customer experience, usability, and accessibility of the training portfolio.
  • Support Freddie Mac Affordable Lending and Duty-to-Serve goals through educational resources
  • Support test-and-learn and other special programs with learning solutions and/or consultative advice.
  • Lead a team to develop and deliver educational resources to help Freddie Mac clients reach Core Mission Borrowers.
  • Positively influence the quality of the loan manufacturing process by implementing training offerings that support responsible lending and sustaining homeownership, including loss mitigation and other servicing efforts.
  • Manage technology, third-party and other risk items proactively.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal business partners.
  • Develop and sustain a strong team by clarifying roles, ownership, and decision-making authority across the SSES team.

Qualifications:

  • College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred.
  • 10+ years’ of proven experience providing leadership within the Single-Family mortgage industry, including substantial experience in people management.
  • Proven innovative instructional design techniques & technology execution; understand how to partner with designers and Product Managers to ensure instruction is part of the digital experience.
  • Experience leading a team in a virtual environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of facilitators and instructional designers who are also responsible for subject matter expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation.
  • Business process consultation expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident speaker comfortable facilitating discussions with all levels of staff, including executives.
  • Experience leading Learning Management Systems.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $174,000 - $262,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
