SalaryPosition Summary:
This position is responsible for the efficient and accurate flow of materials as required for daily shipping and production activities. The position performs activities related to receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
Position Requirements:
- Prepares shipments routed via company drivers, common carriers, and schedules daily pickups and deliveries.
- Coordinates the freight carriers for daily pickup of all outbound shipments.
- Ensures all Shipping/Receiving files comply with record retention master list.
- Packages and prepares accurate customer and supplier shipments per schedules.
- Packages and prepares required paperwork for miscellaneous shipments such as overnight letters, returned goods, Federal Express, UPS, etc., that are not handled by other DSB personnel.
- Receives and inspects product and processes appropriate paperwork.
- Reviews and documents incoming and outgoing material for damage and communicates status with applicable personnel.
- Maintains excellent company image through daily contacts with employees, customers, suppliers, and freight carriers.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness – state of constant audit readiness.
- Ensure accurate and timely EDI transactions.
- Ensures safe & effective warehouse operation - champion’s safety awareness.
- Unloads/loads inbound/outbound shipments.
- Establish & maintain documentation of customer specific requirements related to shipping.
- Implement processes and maintain work instructions for warehouse.
- Operates multiple types of material handling/packaging/warehouse equipment.
- Investigate with carriers in order to expedite or trace deliveries.
- Completes daily checklist on material handling equipment.
- Ensures accuracy of daily shipping paperwork and that required quality audits of outgoing shipments have been completed before shipping.
- Maintains inventory of freight carrier supplies and re-orders as required.
- Maintains ideal inventory quantities of shared shipping supplies.
- Coordinates material movements/requirements with Buyer – Planner.
- Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.
- Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of DSB Technologies which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Professional and Technical Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to obtain a forklift license
