Position Title: Shipping/Warehouse Lead
Position Overview: Meets the company’s requirement to be able to execute extreme accuracy as a role model and provide leadership to the shipping/ warehouse staff. Instruct all employees on proper procedures and performance of handling of goods in Shipping/ Warehouse.
Reports to: Director of Operations
Shift:1st Shift
Schedule: Monday - Friday : 7 AM - 5PM
Position Responsibilities:
- Shipping Orders
- Makes timely and accurate shipments to customers.
- Assures policies and procedures are maintained and followed.
- Plan and ensure proper gathering, tagging and preparation of slips.
- Make sure that all shipments are double checked for accuracy.
- Loading trucks when freight carriers pick up.
- Responsible for the accuracy and confirmation that all counts are accurate.
- Assure that correct orders are picked up and shipped correctly.
- Responsible for the arrangement of daily freight pickups with the carriers and preparation of all necessary paperwork.
- Prepare all documentation for shipments.
- Assist Customer Service to resolve any discrepancies in billing or changes directly with the freight carrier.
- Receiving Supplies
- Unloading of raw materials and check all materials against the shipping receipt and the order.
- Check all counts by measurement or hand counting.
- Immediately notify carrier of any shortages or damages and ensure written documentation is obtained for claims.
- Bring copies of goods received to the office, and alert them right away of any discrepancies, shortages in the order, large overages or damages.
- Warehouse Organization and Condition
- Share in the responsibility for warehouse condition, storing of goods in the appropriate locations so items can easily be retrieved when needed. Checks for neatness and cleanliness.
- Assures accuracy of inventory.
- Inventory
- Assist in the loading of supplies onto the factory truck and check off the list provided.
- Check in amounts of finished goods, brought by truck against list provided by driver.
- Ensure all finished goods are stored properly on a daily basis and in appropriate location.
- Counts requested during month-end and at year end (with Director of Operations) and helps reconcile any discrepancies.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Mentor, train and set an example to others.
- Train all new warehouse employees by ensuring all processes and procedures by utilizing the training checklist for step by step direction.
- Provide training and instruction for all Shipping/ Warehouse personnel who are using lift trucks and certified in their use.
- Assist in implementing all safety policies and procedures for the Shipping/Warehouse areas.
- Ensure all employees follow established safety practices and instructions.
- Complete mandatory training and attending staff meetings.
- Complete all Safety and SQF documentation as required.
- Efficiently utilize Amtech system in performance of job duties
- Must be able to utilize forklift to efficiently move goods
