Responsibilities:
- Respond to routine requests/issues and timely escalate issues requiring the involvement of others.
- Coordinating activities for production personnel in support of completing all day-to-day operational objective with employee safety as the top priority.
- Become an expert in all facets of the shipping operation, including the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Promote and participate with continuous improvement efforts.
- Participate in the hiring of new employees and the training of existing employees.
- Participate in employee performance feedback and planning.
- Support supervisors by providing input about individual and team performance.
- Works to identify resources and action required for employees to achieve their individual goals and monitor progress.
- Identifies process improvements and works with others to implement with the right sense of urgency.
- Safely operate various lift equipment.
- Perform housekeeping duties in warehouse.
- Exhibit teamwork and self-management practices.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and policies.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least two (2) years of experience reading and writing bills of lading, booking, and scheduling trucks, or related shipping experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience operating lift equipment, including forklift.
- At least one (1) year of previous, formal supervisory experience.
- Previous experience with identifying and implementing meaningful process improvements.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong problem solver, team player and ability to build relationships with all types of people.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and under the pressure of deadlines.
- Must be able to perform the essential job requirements as identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Willing and able to work overtime, flexible schedules, and weekends as needed.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- A valid driver's license.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience using Lean/6S/TOC.
- Experience using ORACLE.
- Qualified forklift certification.
- Familiarity with UPS, FedEx, and Kewill logistic software.
