JOB STATEMENT: Assist Supervisor in directing and delegating employees in the Shipping Department to ensure all safety, quality, and production goals are met.
Shipping Lead

We are seeking an experienced and capable Shipping Lead to join our dynamic team. This position plays a critical role in our logistics and warehouse operations, responsible for leading a team of 10 personnel. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in team leadership, shipping management, and forklift operation.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6am to 4 PM, Friday 5 AM to 5 PM, Saturday 6am to NOON
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assess the Shipping Department daily for safety, quality, service, and scrap/rework concerns. Involve any necessary
• employees/departments to address issues immediately
• Read, understand and assist with the completion of various paperwork and reports to determine Shipping
• production requirements for the day. Oversee preparation of materials and schedules.
• Conduct meetings when the supervisor is unavailable.
• Prioritize work on the yard to meet shipping needs.
• Move and reassign employees within the area to fulfill shipping requirements.
• Arrange for repair and maintenance of equipment in the area.
• Work with supervisor to identify potential problems with loading requirements due to materials or staffing
• concerns and establish and help implement plans for improvement.
• Work with supervisor to identify potential problems with layout and equipment. Establish and help implement

• Assist in maintaining inventory and scheduling accuracy.
• Assure rejected product gets repaired/replaced in a timely manner.
• Keeps work area clean and neat.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership:

   • Lead and supervise a team of 10 warehouse personnel.
   • Provide guidance, support, and training on all positions within the Shipping Department.
   • Ensure that team members meet productivity and safety standards.

2. Disciplinary Processes:

   • Be actively involved in disciplinary processes, as needed.
   • Enforce company policies and maintain a professional and productive work environment.

3. Time and Schedule Management:

   • Manage the team's work hours and schedules effectively.
   • Ensure that workloads are distributed efficiently.

4. Order Staging and Shipment:

   • Stage customer orders accurately for shipment.
   • Coordinate and schedule shipments to meet delivery deadlines.

5. Forklift Operation:

   • Proficiently operate forklifts to transport and handle materials safely.
   • Load and unload materials and products efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse and logistics procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Experience in disciplinary processes is a plus
• Forklift experience 

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage starting at $23  an hour offered based on your experience and qualifications.
