Job Description
• Utilize NetSuite ERP system and Smartsheet application to schedule and coordinate equipment pick-ups and deliveries.
• Prioritize pick-ups and shipments based on information received from NetSuite ERP system, emails, Production, Sales, and Management, shifting priorities based on customer demand.
• Communicate daily shipping schedule to Sales and management.
• Act as first line supervisor for Shipping Department, lead a team of drivers, material handlers, and make-ready personnel.
• Assign available drivers, vehicles, and outside hot shot, freight, or courier services to ensure timely pick-ups and on-time deliveries, making informed decisions to minimize shipping costs while providing exceptional customer service.
• Fulfill orders in NetSuite ERP system, print packing slips, prepare paperwork for deliveries and shipments.
• Package equipment and items for proper and safe transportation, utilizing available drivers, general laborers, and make ready personnel as needed.
• Utilize UPS WorldShip and other software to arrange for shipments and pick ups by courier services.
• Pick up or deliver equipment when required.
• Check in equipment for repair, relaying information to Production and Sales.
• Assist Buyer as needed to receive equipment and inventory, verifying packing slip accuracy, notifying Buyer and Plant Manager of any discrepancies.
• Notify Buyer of shipping supply needs, maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials.
• Coordinate with shipyards or customers to arrange for pick-ups and deliveries.
• Any other tasks as deemed necessary by management.
Job Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience in Shipping, Logistics, or business-related discipline
• Ability to effectively lead a small team
• Clear and effective communication
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, ERP Systems, courier software)
• Ability to interpret and fill out packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping related documents
• A track record of ethical behavior
• Attention to detail
• Abilities in problem solving, time management, decision making, and rapid change and implementation
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility
• Ability to work in a shop environment
• Ability to operate a powered lift truck, forklift certification a plus
• Must have a valid driver license and a good driving record
