Shipping Clerk

Job Summary:
Norman’s Nursery is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Traffic Clerk. This is an entry-level position responsible for clerical tasks, data entry, and generating shipment paperwork. Assists the traffic department with administrative and clerical tasks, including the logging and monitoring of inbound and outbound shipments or transfers.

Work location: Fillmore

Responsibilities:

• Process delivery receipt paperwork for items scheduled for delivery the following day: Print the document, cross-reference printout with original sales order on JD Edwards, verify delivery address, and mark paperwork with the relevant Department of Agriculture stamp.
• Address any discrepancies in sales orders by communicating directly with each yard.
• Verify internal transfers from every yard for orders in progress.
• Generate daily loading dock reports to confirm product availability for scheduled sales orders.
• Conduct quality control by ordering and reviewing quality control reports as necessary.
• Maintain an updated daily load report to ensure shipments are on schedule for delivery.
• Assist in picking slips corresponding to yards for orders to be fulfilled.
• Ensure all items are delivered and promptly communicate any issues with drivers and yards.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Proficiency in computer systems and software applications, including MS Office and logistics management software.
• Some logistics experience (Preferred)
• Bilingual English and Spanish (Must)
• Clear communication skills to interact clearly with customers, vendors, and other personnel.
• Strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pay: $20-22/hr

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
