Form of workPOSITION: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Pay: $18-$20/hr
Hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Mon-Fri, 1 hr. lunch break
Duties:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments of merchandise
- Verify accuracy of shipment contents and compare to purchase orders
- Unload and unpack items from trucks
- Sort and organize merchandise in designated storage areas
- Update inventory records in the warehouse management system
- Prepare and package items for shipment
- Assist with order fulfillment and picking items for customer orders using warehouse management system
- Operate pallet jacks or other equipment to move and store merchandise
- Maintain warehouse in an orderly manner and restocking shipping supplies as needed.
- Light administrative duties such as getting mail, filing documents, answering phones, and directing phone calls
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution center is a plus but not required.
- Basic math skills for counting, sorting, and verifying inventory
- Ability to use a warehouse management system to update records and track inventory
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment is a plus
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments and maintaining inventory records
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time, minimum 50 lbs.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and communicate any discrepancies or issues
