SalaryPosition Summary:
Packaging and skidding of outgoing jobs/orders to customers. Fast paced environment. Some heavy lifting required. Assist with packaging and skidding of outgoing jobs to customers and vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
- Prepares Sales orders; issue packing slips; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
- Prepares Outside process orders by pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
- Open bales, crates and other containers; distribute accordingly.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
- Maintains inventory controls by receiving inbound receipts within MRP system. Cycle count as needed.
- Prepare parcels for mailing.
- Operates lift trucks, hand trucks, overhead crane system, and company truck to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas.
- Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times. Notifying Materials Coordinator when supplies are needed.
- Utilizes UPS/FedEx software effectively and understands summary reporting on request. Have understanding of both Domestic and International shipping guidelines and requirements.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Perform assign tasks as directed by management
Essential Functions:
- Ability to operate industrial equipment (forklift, cranes, hand truck)
- Ability to operate company truck
- Ability to follow work instructions.
- Ability to plan and manage assignments.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Have a good understanding of materials management including inventory control.
- Have good understanding of Shipping and Receiving processes.
- Able to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet production deadlines.
- Ability to operate computers while using a Windows platform. (Retrieve files, save files, email, Word and Excel)
- Ability to use Epicor ERP system.
- Must be organized and show initiative
- Recent Shipping and Receiving experience required.
- Must have a positive attitude and be flexible.
Qualifications:
- Forklift experience
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-2 yrs. previous Shipping & Receiving/Warehouse/Forklift experience preferred
- Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
- Dependable and Reliable
- Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required
