Shipping Receiving Clerk – Madison Heights, MI

What defines this job?

• Works closely with Customer Service and Operations with customer orders in scheduling/sequencing incoming products
• Maintain job order records, customer documents and responsible for the accuracy of all documents that are put into the computer system
• Verify incoming customer products against purchase order specifications utilizing calipers, tape measures, scales, etc.
• Inspect, package, and ship orders consistent with customer and company requirements
• Enter all customer PO details into the JOP software
• Complies with all established safety rules & work practices (PPE)
• Displays proficiency and accuracy with order entry in the ERP system, UPS Worldship, Fed-ex and freight carriers
• Keeps supervisor informed of job-related problems and other information related to work activity
• Other related duties as apparent or assigned

What do we ask?

The preferred candidate will have a High School Diploma; Associate Degree in General or a related field is a plus. Three to Five years’ experience working in a shipping receiving role in a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills. Ability to read fine print as small as 6 font, distinguish colors, and sit/stand for long periods of time. Basic PC skills, including the ability to type and use MS Office software. Knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, NAV preferred). Strong communication skills; both verbal and written. Experience with FedEx, UPS, and other related shipping platforms. Strong work ethic, organization, and time management skills. This position is working Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. Must be able to pass a pre-placement physical, drug screening, background check, and be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
