Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Packaging and preparation of all shipments in and out of company headquarters
- Ensure all proper documentation is completed for all domestic and international shipments.
- Responsible for updating and keeping accurate records of shipping documentation needs such as HTS (Tariff) codes, material of composition records, and photos of inventory parts.
- Utilize UPS/FEDEX/DHL and other LTL and Dedicated shipping partners to organize and track shipments to customers, vendors, etc.
- Develop shipping protocols and best practices to ensure all items, parts and equipment reach their destination safely and on time.
- Ensure all packaged items meet customer orders and requirements.
- Fabricate wooden crates to ship heavy, highly sensitive, expensive equipment and parts.
- Uses the ERP system (Global Shop) to track, report and manage all part shipment needs.
- Is responsible for the Shipping and receiving activities including scheduling, planning and execution.
- Is creative and proactive in increasing efficiencies for material handling and shipping procedures.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high volume, time sensitive structure.
- Contributes as may be requested in all aspects of the business to ensure strategic and tactical business goals and objectives are met.
- 5-10 years of Shipping and Logistics experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3-5 years of experience in international Shipping and Logistics
- Global Shop experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of domestics and international shipping requirements
- Understand how to work with wood and equipment needed to cut various types of plywood and other structural wood.
- Intermediate Excel skills and overall Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written, with multiple parties about multiple projects in a clear and effective way.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Strong Ability to Multitask
- Motivated self-starter, but also a good collaborator.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle documents, objects, tools or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Lifting requirements are up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
