Reporting to the Assembly Team Leaders, the Shipper/Receiver oversees the operation of the Shipping & Receiving Areas and coordinates with other department personnel as necessary to streamline Company initiatives involving the area. This person should be able to use their experience to effectively complete the tasks required for shipping and receiving the company’s product. In this position, successful candidates should be able to optimize thru put of the area while maintaining the high level of quality required by our customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as our final Quality Assurance checkpoint prior to our products being shipped out to the customer.
- Using the tools provided, carefully package the items for shipment using the proper shipping container and packing material based on the shape, weight and delivery method.
- Process the daily shipments using the Companies ERP System taking note of any special requirements made by Customer Service on behalf of our customer.
- Process incoming goods using the Companies ERP system and distribute the items to the proper location in a timely manner.
- Maintain a neat and organized shipping area throughout the day.
- Maintain a proper level of packaging goods and order replacements as needed.
- Safely operate a sit-down LPG forklift for material handling purposes.
- Continuously work to improve the area, the process and the quality of our shipment packaging.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- 1-3 Yrs. experience in a warehouse style facility
- Shipping/Receiving experience a plus
- Familiar with navigating /using Windows based software
- Forklift experience a plus
The job may require extended periods of standing on a concrete floor.
The job may require lifting up to 50lbs.
The job requires knowledge of computers with Windows based software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
The job requires good communication skills with both internal and external personnel.
The job requires you to spend all of the day in a warehouse facility. Warehouses are generally noisy, dusty and drafty. Contact with petroleum based lubricants and cleaner’s may not be avoidable.

Overtime maybe required from time to time due to our seasonal sales fluctuations. All efforts will be made by management to reduce or eliminate any need for mandatory overtime by seeking volunteers instead.
