Shift Manager Maintenance

Cleveland-Cliffs, Coshocton Works, located in East Central Ohio, a stainless finishing operation and one of the nation’s leading producers of flat rolled stainless steel, has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager for Maintenance.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Administration of company policies and procedures
• Direct supervision of Mechanical Maintenance personnel in a union environment
• Participate in the operation's manufacturing, safety, quality, and environmental programs to ensure plant objectives are met and exceeded
• Adhere to the Quality Policy to promote continuous improvement of our products and processes
• Attain results through effective planning, organizing, controlling, and assignment of priorities
• Maintain effective and consistent work performance, even under uncertain or unstructured conditions in the face of stress
• Identify basic problem(s), gather the appropriate information, and analyze then in an effective manner
• Make decisions with a clear business focus on safety, quality, and productivity
• Perform safety and quality audits/observations within the department to detect existing or potential accident hazards, or quality defects
• Assist in the development, review, and update of JSHA’s (Job Safety and Health Analysis) to eliminate safety hazards
• Facilitate weekly safety contacts/safety meetings

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in heavy manufacturing maintenance
• Working knowledge of the skills of the craft including welding, hydraulics/pneumatics, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting
• Ability to coordinate and execute a multitude of projects with minimal supervision within the allotted time and budget
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills
• Ability to work turns as necessary and overtime as needed for breakdowns and outages when they occur

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in technical or engineering
• Managerial experience including safety, quality, environmental, cost management and budgeting is preferred
• Three + years of supervisor experience in an industrial union environment is preferred
