Job description

Spark Academy is a co-ed, residential treatment program for adolescents specializing in trauma, mood disorders, adoption and attachment issues, and similar diagnoses. Students in Spark Academy have faced adverse experiences that have negatively impacted their physical, emotional, and social well-being. We strive to engage our students to connect to their resiliency and empower them to build on that to take charge of a thriving future!

Spark Academy has two residential settings – foundations and extensions – based on the therapeutic progress of the students. We currently seek to hire Shift Lead Manager positions within all two settings. A Shift Lead Manger is an assistant to the Program Manager. They are responsible for managing their assigned shift, training and directing personnel on their team, overseeing the structure and supervision of students, and ensuring a care giving environment is upheld. We will hire a candidate who demonstrates solid leadership skills, can be attuned to the needs of others, and shows passion and vision to excel!

Schedule:

  • MWF, 2:30 - 10 PM, one Sunday every 4 weeks

Knowledge and Abilities:


  • The aptitude of adolescent development.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor adolescents successfully.

  • Basic understanding and competency of complex trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, attachment disorders, etc. Must also show assertiveness to improve knowledge and competency for efficient job performance.

  • Management and leadership skills — using passion and vision to teach and steward both students and employees.

  • Excellence in innovation and executing plans, knowing how to be attuned to the people and business you serve to weave culture and results.

  • Good energy, with the ability to work in all weather conditions.

  • An engaging and empathetic character with a balance of tenacity and determination.

  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal relationship skills, with basic computer skills.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and sustain a positive work culture on the home.

  • Develop close, personal, and emotionally supportive relationships with the students on your home, coaching them in their treatment progression.

  • Implement clinical treatment plans as outlined by the Treatment Team, and assure team members also understand expectations.

  • Serve as an assistant to the Program Manager for leadership duties. This includes, but is not limited to, managing and training staff, handling operational components of assigned shifts, assuring Elevate Academy program components are consistent, and that treatment care objectives are applied in a true, high-quality manner.

  • Conduct quarterly evaluations and provide feedback to employees for continuous improvement.

  • Consistently touch base with team members, for performance tracking and development.

  • Reliably intercede and successfully mediate any conflicts at hand or any time a student needs further support and guidance.

  • Attend weekly Treatment Team meetings, coming prepared to report on the therapeutic progress of the students. Work collaboratively with clinical Therapists and other Treatment Team members to develop strategic goals and objectives for each student that will guide them forward in their healing.


Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 6 months relevant experience in residential treatment is required.

  • You must be at least 21 years of age or older to apply.

  • Physical ability to provide interventions, such as safety holds.

  • Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
