About this role
The Shared Services Operations Technology Executive plays a crucial role as the senior technology leader within the Shared Services division. Reporting to the Head of Technology for the Chief Operating Office and working closely with the Head of Shared Services Operations, this executive will spearhead the technological strategy and innovation for a range of operational domains, ensuring alignment with the overall organizational objectives.
The Technology Executive owns the applications aligned in the Shared Services Operations domain including Wholesale Payments (Wires/ACH), Lockbox, Financial Crimes (KYC, EDD, CTR, etc), Regulatory Operations (FDIC, SCRA, privacy, etc), Tax Operations, Real estate Valuations, and Document Capture.
This leader, in partnership with the Shared Services Operations leadership team, will help modernize the applications and platforms. The leader will work with technology partners to build and/or bring in solutions that help modernize existing and new applications using cloud, containers, API's, digital etc. As a senior strategic technology business partner, drive both business strategy and execution of business results. The goal of modernization will align applications and solutions with the operations strategy within Wells Fargo Technology framework. This person will be a technology evangelist who will bring in technology solutions to accelerate operations transformation and modernization while ensuring maximum ROI.
Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes
  • Developing and executing a multiyear technology strategy and solutions to support Shared Services Operations lines of businesses.
  • Running a world class technology environment ensuring critical business deliverables are met in a predictable and seamless way.
  • Engage effectively & leverage services provided by the partner technology organizations like Enterprise Chief Technology Office, Technology Infrastructure, Strategic and Advanced technology, Information Cyber Security Services teams to ensure a seamless service to the business.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture to develop and maintain multi-year business capability roadmaps and placemats.
  • Focus on business value first than solutions to develop ideas, including digital awareness, risk assessments, business continuity, and business contingency requirements.
  • Implement Fail fast culture for rapid software development and deployments with shorter product release cycles.
  • Develop Business Intelligence platforms for operations help make decisions and stay informed.
  • Reduce costs and technical debt by investing in modernization resulting in improved operational efficiency and better application rationalization.
  • Mitigate risks and improve compliance to make sure applications and solutions are cyber resilient and within technology risk framework.
  • Partner with business leadership to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how they fit into technology capability roadmaps and priorities.
  • Attract, develop and retain a high performing team who can proactively design and implement strategic solutions.
  • Bring to the table a 3-year investment plan, that incorporates all technology partners, is optimized, priorities and then tracks execution on this on a monthly basis.
  • Single point of technology contact for operations for escalations, engagements, delivery and assistance. Will help engage right stakeholders to deliver, report and plan on initiatives.
  • Engage with technology & operations stakeholders ensuring technology strategy and investment is in line with business function objectives. Also ensure technology decisions are evaluated and assesses in line with technology industry standards including build vs buy decisions.
  • Assess current staff capabilities, identify talent gaps, and execute talent management actions aligned with human capital strategy.
  • Demonstrate business partner value by understanding the business, advocating technology solutions to advance business initiatives, incorporating internal / external customer views, and managing key financial indicators to the benefit of Well Fargo's shareholders.
  • Establishing and maintaining a profile as a senior technology leader both inside and outside the firm.
  • Serves as a role model demonstrating strong commitment to diversity & inclusion and Wells Fargo's culture and core values.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 4+ years of Management experience

Desired Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience with broad technology operations areas servicing Enterprise Content Management, Payment Operations, Wholesale Payments (Wires/ACH), KYC, Tax, Regulatory Reporting and Data Privacy and Document Capture.
  • 7+ years of global experience in risk mitigation, resiliency and business availability for comparable size bank
  • 5+ years of technology experience in operations transformation resulting in high ROI and efficiencies.
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing a complex technology organization of large-scale including directors, senior managers, managers, individual contributors and vendor resources across multiple global locations
  • Experience managing large or multiple technology efforts with many lines of business.
  • Ability to effectively partner and influence at the executive level.
  • Strong relevant prior experiences in effective management of technology financials and risk
  • Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong technical experts and high performing professionals in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio of technology efforts across several major lines of business and effectively partner/influence at the senior executive level.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the financial, operational, technical and regulatory drivers impacting a complex and dynamic global technology environment.
  • Ability to develop technology strategy, operating model & roadmaps with clear objectives and aligned with business, enterprise and Wells Fargo Technology strategies.
  • Proven experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen.
  • Serves as a role model demonstrating strong commitment to diversity & inclusion and Wells Fargo's culture and core values.
