Job Summary and QualificationsAs the Conference Center Set-up & Support Technician, your role is vital to the success of HCA’s Conference Center operations, hosting an average of 10,000 meetings annually, which encompasses 43 meeting rooms between five buildings with approximately 60,000 square feet of meeting space. Your primary focus in this role is to ensure scheduled meeting rooms are set-up in a timely manner, ensuring tables, chairs, power cords and all other equipment are properly arranged in accordance with pre-defined configuration approved by both the Conference Center Manager and applicable HCA Meeting Planner. In addition to Conference Center setup responsibilities, you will provide a wide range of other valuable services alongside the Audio Visual Technicians in support of both the Conference Center Manager and HCA Meeting Planners.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Actively demonstrate strong and effective customer service skills throughout the course of all assigned meetings.
- Engage with meeting planners and meeting attendees as requested and as needed to ensure delivery of prompt and effective customer service consistent with the meeting planner’s expectations
- Move tables and chairs from inventory to set meeting rooms to meeting planner specifications within fire code guidelines
- Upon arrival of the meeting planner, discuss and assess the set-up of the room to ensure it meets meeting planners expectations and needs
- Ability to handle multiple meeting room set-up changes per a day
- Set and disburse power to meeting room tables an ensure safety by taping down power cords
- Manage and maintain equipment inventories and storage closets
- Be creative with challenging, nontraditional setups such as vaccination clinics, blood drives, medical equipment simulations
- Review each week’s meeting set-up schedule in advance and coordinate with other Set-up & Support Technicians to ensure adequate resources are available to execute all planned meeting and events and determine where assistance is needed
- Assessment of all equipment quarterly
- Empty trash in meeting rooms during conference center hours
- Wipe down rooms prior to all meetings
- Clean and maintain beverage stations
- Troubleshoot last minute changes and interruptions during events
- Check the meeting rooms during an evacuation and fire drills ensuring attendees leave the building by set route to designated area
- High School Graduate / GED is required
- Associate's Degree is preferred
- 1+ year(s) of experience in conference events is preferred
- 1+ year(s) of experience in events or hotels is preferred
