As a Settlement Paralegal at McCready Law, you will play a crucial role in the management and negotiation of liens. This position can be located in our Chicago, Chicago-Beverly or Indianapolis office. The position can be fully remote, depending on residency, with experience in reducing liens for a plaintiff's personal injury law firm.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining accurate client files.
• Conduct research to identify and track various liens, including medical liens, Medicare/Medicaid liens, and subrogation claims.
• Collaborate with insurance companies, medical providers, and government agencies to negotiate lien reductions.
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of lien negotiations and reductions.
• Create letters and legal documents related to lien negotiations.
• Run audits to ensure the team's accuracy in lien reduction procedures.
• Communicate with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders regarding lien status and reduction progress.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in lien laws and regulations.
• Acquire necessary signatures for settlement purposes.
• Perform other tasks as required to support the firm's operations.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Exceptional mathematical skills for accurate calculations related to lien reductions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
• Prior experience in a personal injury law firm is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
