We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team of two attorneys and one legal assistant.
Our firm concentrates commercial litigation with an emphasis on complex collections and would prefer a paralegal with experience in commercial litigation. The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will be primarily responsible for all phases of case management and organization, and provide administrative support to 2 attorneys, including:
- Conduct legal research (WestLaw) and gather relevant information for cases
- Assist with document management systems and maintain organized files
- Review and index discovery in NextPoint
- Draft correspondence and pleadings, motions
- Maintain electronic calendars in PracticeMaster and Outlook
- Prepare for Court appearances and hearings
- Assist with trial preparation
- Assemble and file pleadings electronically in Illinois Courts including Appellate and Supreme Courts (Odyssey), and Federal and Bankruptcy Courts
The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will also perform general clerical duties, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, handling correspondence, and deliveries
```Qualifications```
- Previous experience working as a paralegal or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Outlook and Word, and electronic filing in local Courts
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Proficient in conducting legal research using various resources
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
