Purpose
Assist technicians with work order creation and customer interaction to enhance the flow of work through the service department from customer interactions through repair completion and invoicing. Will be the first and last contact with customer and direct customers to the proper person within the service department. Works with service manager to maintain customer satisfaction and efficient work flow in the service department.
Responsibilities
● Provides guidance and generates quotes for customer machine repairs as experience allows
● Manages the work order cycle process; generation to final for service manager for their approval and closure.
● Sells service labor and assists with ordering parts for shop projects ensuring all techs are highly productive
● Communicates and monitors service department processes to ensure customer satisfaction and department, including time card maintenance, work order comments.
● Assists with service department scheduling and job assignment
● Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
● Ensures all service Warranty and Product Improvement Programs are completed and submitted to the Service Manager in a timely fashion
● Ensures the tool inventory is maintained and accurate
● Assists in making deliveries to customers/pickup equipment from customers
● Will need to be able to load, secure, and unload equipment
● Operate forklift to assist in any area needed within the service department
● Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
● Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
● Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
● Will be required to travel between all three locations weekly as needed per manager.
● Other projects/tasks at any of the Tri-County Equipment locations that may be assigned.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge
● 3+ years of experience working in a dealership environment
● Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™, Parts Advisor, and the business system
● Efficiently able to operate a pickup with a trailer
● Efficiently able to operate a forklift.
● Experience working cooperatively in a team environment
● Experience communicating effectively
● Will need to be able to pass a MVR Test, background test, and drug test.
● High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
