What is the job about?  

The Senior leader in the Water and Industry Business Unit for Peerless Pump will direct The Service Business Development & Operational Strategy Director will service strategy development, and tactical implementation, Business Development with business plan input, including: strategic, marketing, facilities, resources, and budget plans input driving the P&L.  Develops & maintains an attractive product portfolio for Service, Repair, and OEM Parts elements of the Aftermarket business. Manages Customer Service manager for Pumps, Parts, and Service functions.  Oversees the managers and remote facilities in Texas and California. Directs strategic regional expansion in target hubs.  Including establishing brick and mortar startups driving the expanded Service footprint globally to accelerate Service growth platforms.  Leads the Field Service Engineers to establish best in class support for our portfolio, driving enhanced revenue streams in the Service categories. This position reports directly to the VP Water Utility & Industry Business Unit and will work out of our Indianapolis, IN facility.  Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

 

Your main responsibilities:  

  • Develops, implements, and achieves business plans, including strategic, marketing, facilities, resources, and budget plans including P&L.; Develops & maintains an attractive product portfolio for Service, Repair, and OEM Parts elements of the Aftermarket business

  • Negotiates complex contracts with customers and suppliers

  • Oversees the managers of the customer service team

  • Oversees the managers of the existing remote Service Centers ( Lubbock and Fresno )

  • Direct management of all remote service centers, including startup of new locations

  • Develop and maintain the Authorized Service Provider ( ASP ) network, fit and function to align to business direction

  • Supports and actively engages in LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.

  • Participates as a member of the Company’s Business and Operations leadership team

  • Perform work, promote teamwork, and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards ( Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc )

  • Identify growth opportunities within existing product categories

  • Work with team to further grow and define services business

  • Maximize financial performance with a focus on the aftermarket segment

  • Identifies, evaluates, and implements new business opportunities aligned with the company's overall strategy

  • Works with internal stakeholders to understand the company's strengths and value proposition to develop sales strategies that result in sustainable and profitable growth

  • Develops strategies for breaking into new and existing markets

  • Develops strategic partnerships to create revenue generation opportunities for the company's products and services     

 

Your background 

We imagine that you have:   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or an equivalent mix of education & experience; MBA is Preferred

  • 10 years’ experience in a similar role with P&L responsibility

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience

  • Ability to build and implement strategic business plans

  • Experience managing a P&L statement

  • Understanding of direct selling as well as handling through distribution channels

  • Understanding of Service and remote facility management

  • Experience managing teams

  • Willingness to travel

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills

  • Comprehensive analytical and planning skills

  • Effective knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process & equipment applications

  • Lean competencies and Six Sigma certification
