- Department: Laundry
- Schedule: Part Time (16 hours); This position resides within the Hospitals Linen Department and the two main functions are distributing Linen Exchange carts and refilling the depleted linen exchange carts along with picking up soiled linen throughout the hospital.
- Hospital: Ascension Oakland
- Location: Madison Heights
This is a collective bargaining agreement union position.
What You Will Do: Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Materials Management, responsible for supply of clean
linen throughout the hospital.

- Inspect, sort, and fold clean linen as it is delivered, store it on appropriate carts and deliver
full sized linen carts to assigned Nursing units. - Handle all phone requests for linen from the Nursing units in a timely manner.
- Deliver clean linen to Nursing units in the afternoon as needed each day.
- Prepare, check, sort, and deliver clean linen orders to ancillary departments.
- Document daily pars on departmental par sheets.
- Assist with the linen inventory.
- Complete mandatory competencies annually.
- Prepare new linen orders as needed.
- Demonstrate in all duties and responsibilities a warm, humanistic attitude toward patients, their
families, visitors and associates of the hospital. - Participate in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues.
- May enter daily linen data into Linen Helper Program as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:.
- Must be able to read, write, and follow written an oral instructions.
- Must have knowledge of various linen items used.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs., and move a considerable amount of linen.
Education:
- High School graduate or equivalent is required.
