The role of the Service Advisor is to be the liaison between customers in need of vehicle repairs and technicians. Schedule maintenance and handle the appropriate paperwork working with customers and technicians, Service Advisor schedules maintenance and assigns work to shop technicians. Researching parts pricing and labor estimates as needed, and can include working with suppliers to find specific parts. Compile an estimated price and final bill of repairs for customers, and estimate the time needed for repairs. Interact with customers and company team members to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction and efficiencies. Keep all required paper work as needed.
What WINNING LOOKS LIKE:
- Coordinates customer repair orders with Branch Manager and Lead Tech for task assignment
- Works with Lead Technician to coordinate proper scheduling of all shop business
- Works with customers and technicians to fill parts requirements
- Prepares invoices for all over the counter sales and house requisitions for all parts that are issued to the shop
- Maintains proper inventory levels
- Works with Branch Manager to ensure timely action taken and settled in areas of disputes and warranty
- Inputs repair order information to data processing system and closes repair orders
- Participates in training to stay current on technical and warranty issues
SKILLS NEEDED TO WIN:
- Experience as a parts person in heavy trucks preferred but not required
- Knowledge of mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment preferred but not required
- You must be a strong computer user, able to handle lots of paperwork, manage people and sell services
- Must be able to pass a drug test, and background check

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of time
- Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes
