Primary Job Duties
- Serve food and beverages to patrons, and serve specialty dishes to tables.
- Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals, and take corrective action to any problems.
- Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
- Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
- Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
- Roll silverware, set up food stations, and set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift.
- Assist host/hostess by answering phones to take reservations and to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
- Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
Qualifications
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- A passion for providing exceptional guest service
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-work environment
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Be able to consolidate and coordinate needs for all tables within their station
- Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and order totals
